Sansui 9090 Help

I'm new.

I bought a Sansui 9090 off of my friend a couple months back and it was working perfectly, but a week or so ago the left channel just went dead. My friend thinks that it may be the transistors, but he's not sure and to top it off we haven't been able to find them anywhere.

Any input on what's wrong/how to fix it/where to find a 2sc1116a transistor would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you happen to check the simple things?

Last year, I could have sworn that my Sansui Eight receiver had a dead transistor, but it proved to a fuse that blew but didn't look like it had, under the bottom plate of the receiver.

Thanks a lot for the help. I'll be checking fuses and whatnot tomorrow.

Also, thanks for the link. That is greatly appreciated.

Don't forget to check for dirty switches! Tape monitor switches and muting switches are notorious for causing one channel to drop out. If the remaining channel stil works, but you get no sound at all from the other channel, it is doubtful that you have a bad output stage. Also check the speaker relay, it could need cleaning. Wiggle it, and if the channel comes back, you need to take the cover off the relay, burnish the contacts with 600 grit sandpaper, clean with alcohol and reassemble.
