Having an issue with Sanyo TP1005 TT. Search of forum revealed some similar posts, but nothing specific to Sanyo TP 1005. Cuing lever works fine and raises/lowers tone arm. When tone arm reaches auto return position at the end of a record, I hear the mechanism activate. Tone arm doesn't lift and while returning to tone arm rest scratches across record. Same thing happens if I press "Reject" button. The tone arm lifter does not move upward at all when the auto return mechanism engages/activates at the end of the record or when I press "Reject". There appears to be about 1/8" gap between the rear portion of tone arm and tone arm lifter when cuing lever is in "down" position. The cuing "up" position raises the tone arm and cartridge well above the surface of a record on the platen. The cuing "down" position allows the cartridge to drop way below (1/4"+) where a record would be if on the platen.
TT sat for many years unused. Replaced the drive belt and all other functions seem to work well. Any and all suggestions and guidance is deeply appreciated!
