well got this movie,have the DVD,this 4K movie is great, the picture,sound,smokes the DVD,the best war
Movie I have ever seen.a lot of good war flicks but this one is top notch.i see why it won 5 oscars.plus the
Only movie tom hanks dies in.all the actors did a great job with this movie,my hat is off to all of them.

I had the DTS audio version of the DVD when it was the latest and greatest. Eventually, I switched to blu-ray, and noted a huge difference in picture resolution between DVD and blu-ray. I mean a huge difference.

I have no doubt that 4K offers remarkable improvement as well.

I think that movie isn't holding up very well and that The Thin Red Line of the same year is by far the superior movie. In many ways the 1964 version of The Thin Red Line is better than either, being more in the vein of Jones' book.

I agree with Tom. Once they get past the beach it is past its best part. Although there isn't anything I can think of on film that's a better WWII scene than that beach landing. There are a few hokey thngs there too, like when they shoot at the embankment with rifles where the Germans have a machine gun located and the whole thing collapses.
