Looking at pics of the rear panel I'm not seeing a grounding lug. I'm not even sure why it would.

Anyway, in stereo mode with the amp unplugged use an ohm meter between the negative outputs. If no resistance, it's not common ground.

I will give the resistance test a shot. Thanks for your help.

The SU-9070 is a pre amp. The ground lugs on it are for grounding a turntable or two or three.

Thank you for that info. I have not made the purchase for the SDA-2 as of yet, based on what you had said about the common ground issue. I want to make a good purchase for sound quality, not quantity. I currently have a pair of Technics SB-A71, a pair of SB-A33 and a pair of SB-CR33 to this setup. I have a Technics SL-PD667 5 disc CD player attached. To me, it sounds loud. I am missing the details in the music with these speakers. Maybe this set up is just too much power, to begin with. I have read good things about the early Polk SDA-2 speakers. But again, I have been away from the audio world for a long time. Looking to get back in with some good quality this time without breaking the bank. As well as purchasing the correct speakers for this system. I do have a Pioneer SX-980 receiver that I could put a set of smaller speakers on for quality.
