Sears Silvertone tube console

I have a line on a Sears Silvertone radio/phonograph console. It is definitely a tube unit, and I know it is a 4088 (walnut) model. No pics yet, but my guess is that it is early 1960's. Its about 5 feet long. The receiver handles AM, FM and FM Stereo, along with the phonograph. There is a tuner monitor that is a non-tube version of the tuning eye. It has two sections that light up and merge as you optimize tuning.

Anyone have any info on this? Who made these for Sears? I'll try to get pics in a few days.

The tuning indicator you describe looks a lot like a 6FG6/EM84 tube.

Sam Photofact folder 681-11 covers this, dated 1964. I don't have many that recent, but you could try Bob at findatube.com for a copy.

I just stumbled onto this thread, albeit 5 years late. My mom has a (still functional) Sears Silvertone model 4088 console in walnut. Here's a pic! BTW, the folks bought it in the Summer of 1963!

I got this 1959 consolette for FREE on Craig's List and everything still works well! Amazing. The guy who gave it to me told me that he found it sitting on the curb!

I got one of em consolettes too. I have a small hum from it, but still work well.
