Those are IRS IIs, the kissing-cousins of my IRS IIIs. Properly driven, they sound FANTASTIC 
, although they are so revealing and demanding that you must pay attention to what you feed them.
If I were in the Seattle area, I'd stop my lunch in mid-chew and RUN (well, probably get chased down the freeway by the Highway Patrol...) to get those for that price. Whoever grabs them and gets them properly set up in a decent-sized room will have a huge smile on their face

If it's an AKer who also reads this, one caveat: these are among those infamous speakers that can drop to 1 ohm at times, so you MUST either use an appropriate amp that can handle the demands (a large Adcom or Krell or the like), or bi-amp them, lest the EMIT tweeters get fried by the struggling amp's clipping. If you are trying them out with a more typical amp, keep the volume low until you get them properly powered, and accept that yes, the sound will later become even better. Raccoon the woogers if needed, check the caps in the crossover and consider replacing them, bi-amp the beasts you are so inclined (can improve the sound and keeps the EMITs safe) and give them lots of power/headroom, especially on the bottom, find the right position for them in a large enough space (usually 5 oe 6 feet from the rear wall, and as far in from the side walls works best) and the only reason you'll ever want another pair of speakers is (1) to get something less revealing so you don't have to throw out half your CD collection, or (2) some rich Uncle gave you higher models (hopefully IRS Vs).
Just the opinion of someone who likes these speakers, and thinks they are generally under-appreciated. I got mine free from the trash, and they were worth every penny I paid and then some.

DOOOHHHHHH!!! Why do these things ALWAYS turn up so bloody far away from me?!?!?! The closest pair of these from me to ever come up for sale were 2 hours away less than a month ago on ePrey, and I got sniped at just over $650 in the closing seconds. GRRR!!!
