SF2 Speaker Info (for "Zesty")

Regarding your question that you posted on the audioasylum website, here's a scan of the cover page for the SF2 brochure I have. The SF2 is an omni-directional speaker that dates back to the early 70's and there are two 8" woofers in there - one faces upwards and the other downwards- so that sound is dispersed in all directions in the 360 degree field for enhanced ambience. There is also a 2 1/4" tweeter (with adjustable high range pot in the back to suit your room acoustics. Sansui intended for this particular model to be used in a Quad (4 channel) system- which was the "in thing" back then. They also wanted to make an exceptionally nice-looking piece of furniture :)

There is a pic of the internal view of the speaker in the xerox copy of the brochure I have but this page is in b/w and not very clear, unlike the color cover page:

SF6 speakers

SF2 seems an odd name for a speaker. SF6, also known as Sulfur hexafluoride is a special industrial high voltage insulating gas. I guess one could make a pair of electrostatic speakers, fill 'em with SF6 and seal them. Now what would be a good name for those? :headscrat
