Sharp Optonica SM-1616 ...IC needed

Hi all,

Newbie here who has a Sharp Optonica SM-1616 that does not power up. I have taken it to a tech and says he cant get the IC's (RH-IX1066AFZZ) to fix it. I have looked on ebay but cant find any either. Does anyone here have an idea where to get them?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

That is a very hard to find "Sanken" hybrid. although they are stamped as Optonica, the chips were made by Sanken.
Looking at the specs, I think they may have used the S-60W chip which is a 60W rms hybrid chip. The voltage supplying the chip is +37v and -37v. The spec for the S-60 is typical + and - 40v, and max of + and - 50v.
In a pinch, I believe the S-40W hybrid (40W rms) would work as well. It is spec'd at plus and minus 30v, with max at plus and minus 40v.
The size of these hybrids are the same

That is great info, Million dollar question...do you know where I can get x2 of either the S-60w or S-40w?
 
You have to hunt down some that are genuine, and known genuine. They've been discontinued for some years, like all other IC output modules like the STK chips. They also don't have easy substitute options. A big reason why I stick to tubes and discrete transistors, as those are more repairable and more maintainable.
