I own two Sharp SM-1122 stereo amplifiers. They both have the same problem - left channel fades out randomly. Sometimes it slowly fades out and sometimes it mutes straight away. The amplifier has DIN outputs and I use AUX output via DIN->RCA->TRS-adapter to plug it to my computer. Adapters are definitely okay. I have to plug the RCA again to get left channel work again. It might have some issues with grounding since plugging in makes buzz noise. But that noise helps the channel to work again. Somehow it needs a shock to wake up. During a movie I might need to reconnect RCA ten times.
I put Kontakt 60 every place I could imagine to remove tarnish, but it did not help. Some connection or component is bad, but I have no idea which. Rolling knobs usually doesn't have effect. SM-1122 amplifier is all right except this problem so I wouldn't want to get a new amp too easily. Maybe if someone would give me one.
