At first it seems simple, obviously it’s this…then you think a minute and no, it’s definitely this one…ooops, I forgot I had that…and so on…

at the moment my top 3 are :

all 33’s I might add…

UHQR Kind of Blue
Classic Records press of IRobot
Mint first stereo press of The Sidewinder

now as I’m typing this I’m questioning all of them so I’m just gonna post…

Three general types on my system:

1. Some LP's from "back in the day" that I found sealed. Example: Glen Campbell "Wichita Linemen" (1968)
2. Some Legacy Audiophile pressings (MFSL, Nautilus Superdisc .. etc) Example: Steely Dan Aja MFSL, Cars "self titled" Nautilus
3. Random LP's that some people call "hot stampers" that I found by luck of the draw. Example of one I own:
Pink Floyd "The Wall" (1979) that I picked up used in excellent condition at HPB in Cleveland Ohio.

In no particular order-

Steven Wilson remix of Jethro Tull's "Stormwatch" and King Crimson's "Red"
SRC pressing of Donald Fagen's "The Nightfly"
Discreet pressing of Zappa's "One Size Fits All"
Electrosound press of Alan Parson's "Eye In The Sky"

I know this is a vinyl thread (no intention to derail)…but, interestingly, the one track (among all my CDs, SACDs, and vinyl) that has impressed/convinced more people of the justification for all my expensive, weird, crazy, glowing, hot tube gear—and has most deterred the “you must be overcompensating for something” comments about the size of my Klipschorns—is Peggy Lee’s “Fever,” from the Capitol Jazz Stereo redbook CD (2004 Blue Note reissue): “Things Are Swingin’ Peggy Lee”.

I haven’t a clue. With somewhat rare exceptions they all sound good. Dan Fogelberg’s “The Innocent Age” comes to mind as well as most Dire Straits and Alan Parsons LPs. I don’t think I have any so-called audiophile albums.

Gonna add this to the list
