Solid-state Fisher gear is going nutso!

Yeah, what's the scoop on that.

I walked on a 500T yesterday for $100, as my experience is that SS stuff doesn't bring tube $$. and the 500Ts have sold from $91-$150.

What makes the TX so desirable??

BTW, if you want the 500T let me know and I'll see if it's still available.

The 500TX was the totl during what is arguably the very end of the "quality" ss Fisher gear. So, if you want ss, it's the best of the last.

65 watts RMS per channel. It's a sleeper. Superb MPX tuner with AutoScan tuning. And, the preset feature is really cool as well. I have the very rare remote control with mine, and an original cabinet.

The 500T and the 700T are from the previous era. Built like tanks with great sound, but it was from an earlier time when engineers were still figuring out this transistor "stuff".

The 500TX listed for $499.95 around 1969 or so, which calculates to around $3,000 in 2010 dollars. It's a serious piece of equipment, for sure.

Edit: Already have both a 500T and a 700T, but thanks for the offer!

Looks like most any Fisher SS with the Tune O Matic feature brings decent money. I've been following them a little bit too. But those 500TXs are bringing more than nice 500Cs.
