Well I have a 14 year old Bunn that works great, but looks 14 years old and is white.

I just added a SS double oven range to my kitchen, with a SS range hood on the way.

This thing sure would look good with my new SS items.

But the Bunn works like new and makes great coffee. I've been looking at this thing for over a week now and I would have to get 1000 filters with it.
I already have a new decanter for it. (another story)

So talk me out of this thing. I have bought a Waring Panini grill from these folks. They are a great on line store.

I won't talk you out of it. Great price on a great pour over coffee maker. I love my Bunn but I would consider that one for sure.

Looks like a nice one for the price and there are certainly some things I like about it like the stainless brew basket. I would want to see and inspect one first myself. Where's it made?

Y'all flunked at talking me out of this thing. Thanks for the help.....not!

Hell...I don't know where its made. But if I get this thing I will keep the Bunn put up incase I need it again. I have a tear in my eye now, just thinking about turning my back on my Bunn. It's like an old reliable friend.

Traitor! Bunn's are (were?) made in America. That thing says Chinese rip-off all over it!

Boo!

P.S. If it used #4 cone filters, I'd be looking at it too.

AFAIK the Bunns are still "Assembled in America" whatever that means these days. I tried to find where the Avantco unit was made but no luck. Their info email should say, if that is any consideration. If I needed a brewer and it was not made in China (sorry China) then I think I might be interested too. I have a real hard time replacing anything that still works though. Something genetic I think.

You can get 1000 filters for that thing for $8.30. That's less than a penny per filter. Now I was just looking at the decanter I already have for this thing. It was made in the USA.

I do know on the new Bunn's, the decanter is made in China. The rest is made in USA.

Coffee is for girls.

Does that help any?

Mine ain't. A cup of my coffee will knock the crap out of ya. It really will.

One thing I noticed is one rocker switch for the hot plate. That's telling me both are on at the same time. I do not want the top one on. On the 360 veiw, I see alot of screws in the back, telling me I can go in and disable it. I tried blowing up the image of the label on the back to see where it is made, but I still can't make it out. When I get home from work I will blow it up on my TV to see if that helps.

This thing is also 1650 watts max, where the Bunn is 900 max. But if I disable the top pad it should drop to around 1300. Wild guess there.

Well it took a week of talking to myself, but I went and got it. Any one wants to know what a 1000 filters look like, this is it.

This thing is 3 times faster than my old Bunn. From a cold start, this thing gives you coffee in 4 to 5 minutes as stated. My Bunn took 13 minutes from a cold start. I switched it on every morning and it took 10 minutes to heat up. It also brews between 201-205° just like the Bunn.

The top switch works the top plate only. I should never need that. Funny how it works.
You switch it on. Then pour in the amount you want to brew. Once the water is in, a brew light comes on, on the front. Within 30 to 40 seconds the coffee starts coming out. When the brew light cuts off, the coffee stops coming out and the lower plate comes on to keep the pot warm. Keeps the coffee at 190° I've been playing with it all night. It says I need to run a couple pots of hot water through it to get the new taste out. I've done alot more than that testing it.

I will fix my first pot in the morning. I will let you know how it taste.

Just to let you know. The Brewer, 1000 filters and S/H was $151. I already had a new decanter. But even they are only $5 from this place.

Yes it is made in China. Decanter, USA.
