Theres a bloke over here selling a Sony cassette deck, he wants £30 for it but I could have it fer £20. I know its not cheap but you should try living here  Looks brand new, but I cant find anything about it. The model is TCU 70 like this one but the picture is a TCU60. Anyone know anything about the TCU70 please?

That doesn't sound all that expensive to me. Still, it's a very old deck from around 1980, before Dolby C and Dolby HX Pro, it hasn't got three heads, it probably doesn't have dual capstans. In short, I'd pass on that deck. Today you can get first class cassette decks for very little money second hand. I wouldn't buy any deck that didn't have three heads (except maybe a Nakamichi in good shape). You should be able to get something better even for that kind of money.

All the best,
Jake

I thort so but I just liked the look of it. Its on its way here anyway. Iv allready got a Sansui SC3110, Denon DRM740,DRS810. I gathered these together over the last few weeks having gotten interested in cassette decks again.
P.S I noticed you live in Sweden, Thats a very expencive country to visit for us but very beautifull none the less.

Well the old Sony will not equal your Denons. Might do fine for a garage system. However, it's nice to see you getting back into cassettes :)

The U70 is a surprisingly good-sounding deck. Plus it has those ultra-cool LCD meters.

What's nice about the deck is that it has a very unusual BSL capstan motor that is very stable. Twenty pounds is a bargain!

That's a nice collection of decks! I used to have a Denon DRS-610, which had the same CD-like drawer mechanism as your DRS-810. Very smooth! Good luck with the Sony deck! I love Sony stuff and have a few turntables, DAT decks and a power amp from Sony.

Yes, Sweden is a bit expensive, but it can be nice to visit, especially in the summer. The UK is one of my favourite destinations, hope to go here this summer. I've always been fond of British hifi as well!
