Sony ck-377 reel to reel

Hey everyone, I'm new here. Just bought a vintage Sony ck-377 reel to reel, I think it's from around 1970-75. I just setting it up now, does anyone know if the two little meters illuminate when the unit is turned on. The red lights illuminate when the record switches are pressed, but the meters themselves don't illuminate? Thanks! I'm sure I will be back for more help, this is all new to me!

Actually, it's a Sony CK-366, not 377. Sorry

Viewed a whole bunch of pics using an image search, and I couldn't find lit up meters in any one of them.

Yeah, me too, is it kinda strange that they wouldn't lite up?

Maybe someone else that owns one will confirm wether they like up or not.

Maybe a little inspection of the back side of the meters might reveal if lighting was added to them.

Not necessarily. Older gear was less flashy. If the needles are visible without lighting, they might have decided it wasn't worth the extra cost.

Ok, great! I haven't got the system up and running yet, I will see if the needles move, the red record lights come on. Is it possible the lights are burnt out on both meters?

You know, that picture is a ck-377, mine is a 366, maybe the 366 didn't lite up?

If they originally had lights, then it's quite possible.
