Sony DVP-NS900V SACD, how good of a player it is?

I had a very pleasing surprise on the sunday.
Some of my family and friends from Porto Alegre came to visit me, and since my birthday was just a couple of days later (9 of november), they got me a big present from their local hi-fi shop, a brand spanking new, still on the box Sony DVP-NS900V QS (the silver one). It was used before, but the previous owner kept it immaculate, like it was new. They paid quite a premium for it, that's what they told me.
I loved the gift, mainly because i never had an SACD capable player and also because i never seen this model before. It came in good time as well, since i sold my cheap auction bought Roksan Attessa.
It's also a nice DVD player with progressive scan component output, but it leans much more towards the SACD and CD reproduction, with many outputs to choose and also has a "Video Off" mode.
I'm no electronics connoisseur, i'm not even an electronics hobbyist, but i decided to open the case up just to see what i could find.
I found a Sony SACD/DSD Chip, model CXD275R. And on the audio outputs, the player was infested with many sizes and models of Nichicon Fine Gold and Elna Silmic I capacitors, from what i heard those are quite good.
Well, i'm loving it so far, it has attended me very well and earned its place on my hi-fi cabinet, but just for the hell of it, how good of a player it really is, from a more well informed hi-fi aficionado's perspective?

There's a guy here (can't remember his username) who swears by it. It comes up anytime someone asks about good sounding, reasonably-priced CD and SACD players. A search should turn up a lot of threads.

Is his username "Kingshead"? I'm finding a lot of mentions to the NS900V by him on the forum.

Haha, yes, that's him. He's the unpaid spokesperson for the NS900V! It looks like an awesome machine...I'd love to find one.

Aaaaaannnnd....I did find one. At a thrift for $24.99. I bought it and hope to hook it up this weekend.

These are really beautiful machines, imo.

That's luck, glad to hear you found one!
How are you liking your's so far? Mine has been my main source since i got it, in the last few days i had the opportunity to listen to some multi-channel SACDs on my new 5.1 setup and i was amazed as always!
