Sony STR-6055

Hello all. I am trying to remove the faceplate on my Sony Str-6055. I have been into a few different receivers before but this one is fighting me. My first question is how in bloody hell do you remove switch caps? I tried yanking them with zip ties like i do the rotary knobs but i only managed to separate chromed piece from black piece. Any suggestions?

try gentle heat on it ..it should pull off
someone may have glued it on

with the heat use a couple spoons as levers.

How resilient is lettering on these Sonys? Does anyone know? The faceplate is pretty funky. Should a soft toothbrush scrubbing be safe?

Faceplate go for it.

Dial glass has stencils/decals that will wash off.

Be careful with the faceplate lettering on those. I've had a couple of receivers from that same series and a couple had letters that had been worn away.

I got lucky. Scrubbed lightly and came out pretty good.
