Sound comes out of speakers and headphones simultaneously

I recently purchased a pair of SVEN SPS-702 speakers, however I noticed that whenever I plug my headphones into the speakers, sound continues to come out of one speaker plus the headphones and I can't seem to get my speakers to play sound exclusively through the headphones. I read online that the fault wasnt with the speakers but with their configuration and that I should do it through a driver. The problem is, I can't find a driver for them online. Could you help me, because on the SVEN website there is a tab that says DRIVERS/MANUALS but there are no drivers there to download. I have Windows 7 btw.

If your PC is running on "7", it's time to update, as your chances to get hacked are increased. A PIA to do, but if not sure how to bring up these times, take into a local place you know and get it done.

with most amps, when you plug a jack into the headphone jack, the amp mutes the speakers. some don't but provide an option to turn the speakers off.

IOW, this wouldn't be a speaker issue. it's an issue with the device it's plugged into.

if the speakers offer an option to plug headphones into them, then yes. it's logical to expect them to mute the speakers. it's an issue with the powered speaker.
