Speaker Isolation

Hi to all, This is my first post here. I have pair of Paradigm Monitor 7's with spike feet. My listening area has carpet laid on a concrete slab. The carpet is padded. Would it help to use wood between the feet and carpet? I'm happy with the way the speakers currently sound, but as we all do, I'm looking to tweak for better sound. Thanks, Mike

Spikes through the carpet would be best. Your goal is to have the speaker cones be the only thing moving. The piece of wood will not be coupled to the floor. Now spikes on the wood, than the speakers spiked to that maybe an improvement.
