Speaker matching

I really enjoy working on my Fisher amplifiers and the run well with my recapped Wharfedale W60e’s. But thinking about added new Wharfedale Lintons/Super Lintons or used newer Tannoys. Anyone running their Fisher amplifiers/receivers with either. Still in search of audio nirvana and ears running out of time.

Tannoys and Wharfefales definitely have a sound signature. Listening to them is to me the only way to know if that signature is a 'for you' kind of thing.

However, considering that you have (and I guess really enjoy(?) the) W60e's I'd dare say a Tannoy DC, sixes or vintage (10", 12") dualconcentric might be a thing to listen into. Especially considering their high sensitvity for use with the Fishers. Something like the DC2000, D500 or 615 would be fantastic imho.
Klipsch also comes to mind, but I don't know enough about the brand.

I have 615's (have owned nearly the entire sixes range) and whilst positive about the new 'retro styled' Wharfedale products (have heard them all besides the Dovedales), the 615 blows them clean out of the water. 615's are all about dynamic involvement and impactful representation. They definitely give you more than what their physical size suggests.

P.s. I hated the look of the Tannoy sixes at first, but the sound made me forget all about that.
P.p.s. I like the 8" and 10" woofered models the most, the larger woofered models (whilst sometimes prestigious) have issues I can't live with (but ymmv).
P.p.p.s If you are looking for ultimate refinement vs dynamics in sound reproduction, the recommendations in this post are not for you..
P.p.p.p.s. Keep the W60's too!
P.p.p.p.p.s. I don't like current Tannoys, have not listened to Fyne Audio speakers yet.

I have not purchased any new main speakers yet but I have completed my “ Linton Imitation,” speaker stands and added a SVS subwoofer. A little change in sound but definitely looks better.
