speaker recommendations for a 330c please!@#

i need some new speakers. some that work well with a harman kardon 330c receiver. something under $150. anyone have any pleasant experiences running a particular pair of speakers through a 330c?

That's a good receiver you have. And being a good receiver, there's a million speakers to be had for that price that will sound great with it.

My advice is this- repost your question, and re-word it- this time, mention your amp, and mention your $150 budget, but instead of asking what sounds good with that amp specifically, ask for recommendations for a good speaker for the type of music you listen to (and let us know what type that is), your listening habits, the size of your room, how far/close you'll be to/from the speakers, the volume you'll be playing them at, if you'll be running a subwoofer, and the size of speaker you want.

For $150, If you want a largish bookshelf speaker and an "east coast" sound, and for classical, folk, country, some rock, ect... I'd look at Polk Monitor 7s/Monitor 10s, EPI 100vs, ADS L420/L470/L570s, Boston Acousics A70s and the like.

If you want a largish bookshelf speaker and a "west coast" sound, and listen to hiphop, hard rock, techno, ect... I'd look at JBL L46/L56s and Pioneer HPM 60s, and similar.

If you want a smaller, yet still rich sounding and powerful mini-monitor speaker, then check out an NHT SuperZero/SuperOne or a Paradigm Atom/Titan, for reference.
 
my room is 20 x 20 with a real high ceiling. i listen to folk, alt. country, and lighter rock n' roll. probably an east coast sound. i'm looking for large bookshelf size. possibly a floor standing, but i've noticed that a good floor standing set of speakers are more difficult to find for 150. i will be on the other side of the room listening to them. i won't be running a subwoofer. it will probably be turned up comfortably loud. thanks for the suggestions, thedelihaus. i've looked some of them up and they're all pretty affordable.
 
I have a H/K 330C driving a pair of Boston Acoustics A-150s. I highly recommend the set-up.
 
Try vintage ADS... with 150 bucks to spend, the craiglist or e-bay local pickup only would be the best bet.

I have three pair of ADS and love them very much, though I don't have a ton of experiance with other makers.
 
I really like how my HK receiver mates with my KLH 17s. I'd like to see how it does with models 6 and 23 someday - they come highly recommended.
 
With the vintage speaker market being wide open there is no shortage of fine sounding loudspeakers out there. While some are nice to look at as well. . .

Beat the bushes and scare up something, you might be amazed at what you like or dislike compared to what you and others think you might like.

The speakers that blow me away and that are cheaper than dirt are old Advents, Polk Monitor 5/7/10, Some JBLs and Pioneers among others. . .

There are some speakers out there that because of preconcieved notions you might avoid. . .don't. . .check them out, price and SQ might be just what you are looking for. This speaker includes brands such as Sansui/ Kenwood/ Technics/ Fisher/ Pioneer (Kabuki type).

Point is chek them all you might carry them home. . .
