Hello fellow Pioneer People. Over the last few years, I have acquired a SPEC 1, SPEC 4, and RT 707. I ended up with a U1 fluorescent timer as well. Now, a month or so back I ended up with an actual Pioneer rack to mount these bad boys. There are a lot of threads which have answered many of the SPEC questions I had with respect to mounting on the rack, but I have a couple I haven't found:
1. The SPEC 4 is wicked heavy. I assume I take the feet off, put it on the bottom shelf, and attach the mounting screws to hold it in place? That way the shelf is bearing the weight, largely, and it seems foolish to mount it higher and rely on the faceplate alone. Am I correct on this?
2. Assuming that is correct, how much of a gap should I leave between the top of the SPEC 4 and the next component to allow for airflow?
3. I assume anything with handles and a full faceplate, aside from the amp, I mount w/o a shelf? The rack as I purchased it has three shelf units, so I really scored. The SPEC 1 isn't that heavy, but the RT 707 is pretty heavy. Still OK to mount using only the faceplate?
4. Aside from the U1 noted above, I want this to be an analog SPEC system, no other blue fluorescents. That being the case, I assume I now turn to getting a TX 9500II, CT F1000, and SG 9500 Equalizer?
5. If I don't plan to get a matching turntable, could either the Reel to reel or SPEC 1 rest on the top rack?
Probably silly questions, I just want to do this right.
