I love it loud!
Right now I have a Spotify premium account. Is there any way for me to share my account with my stepdaughter for use on her phone? It appears that even if I upgrade to premium family that it only covers if the members are part of my household. She is back and forth from NY to NC, so it would be great for her to be able to use it

Right now, I'm looking into the same thing you are. My understanding is that the family plan will give me and my two sons Spotify Premium and all that entails for the princely sum of,I think, $15.99. If it does not, I'm not gonna do it.
 
I just vaguely remember seeing an email ad for a promotion that mentioned "anywhere" family/friends package. Call 'em.
 
I emailed Spotify to see if I would get in trouble if I let her use my family account even though she's not always at my house, and they said that that is fine! So I signed up for the family package and viola, it works!
 
I also have Spotify premium. There is one thing that you should know though about sharing the service. I have it on my desktop, phone, and tablet. My wife can also listen on her computer at her job. If she is using it, and I decide I want to listen also, I can't use it separately. I have to listen to what she is listening to. It's the same if I access it first. She would have to listen to what I am listening to.
 
Yup, pretty simple to do. Sign up for family, then it takes 24 hours for it to go in to effect. After that all you need to do is send people an invite through their email. It will ask for their address, just make sure everyone uses your address. They need to all be the same
 
Premium Family is a good deal, My daughter uses it in college and the wife and me at home.

Also fun to share playlists with my kid.
