On my 2330B the station will go out of tune over night...that is to say, I'll be playing it at night perfectly fine, tuning meter is centered/stereo light is lit...I turn it on in the a.m. and the stereo light is off and it's not tuned in properly!

What's the deal?

TIA

The tuning needle doesn't move overnight does it? I had a tuner that would slowly drift due to the the tension on the string I guess. I noticed that the needle would be moved a bit over time. The tuning knob spun pretty freely and far with a good twist. Otherwise I agree with the above. Have you checked after a good warm up the next day it drift back to where it was?

Very likely poor contacts in the tuning capacitor rotor to stator contacts (small brass wipers between the sections of the tuning capacitor). It will also show up as scratchy noise when tuning across a station. This will be much more evident at the lower end of the dial. I spray the contacts with NO RESIDUE contact cleaner and run the dial from end to end a few times, then CAREFULLY lubricate the contacts with some contact lubricant, using a hypodermic needle and syringe (being careful not to get any on the plates).

I used to move my buddies coffee table magazines just a 1/4" when he left the room, he'd come back and it only took a moment for him to notice and he'd move them back without saying a word. It must have drove him nuts.......
