Stereomour II VS TU8900 kits or...

Well, I got my Hakko soldering station with new tips coming in...
and I put my order in for the Analog Ethos Legendarium kit with EH tubes. Came out to just short of $1700 with shipping.

The Legendarium is exactly what i was looking for: stand alone 2A3 SET stereo.
I didn't want to go monoblocs again though I looked at the Monamours, but they were out. The TU8900 with Lundahls were in the game, but they aren't PTP and I sort of didn't like the extra wiring for the feedback switch. I looked at Audio Note too but in the end I decided against 300b.
The Legendarium kit is PTP and according to Analog Ethos, has quality stuff in it so he didn't recommend upgrades though I will look at the caps. I think the iron is Hammond. The housings also look a bit better than the wood of BH and I ordered mine in red.
Anyways, not much as far as reviews out there, but I'll take a chance and see what happens.

Excellent.
Great instructions, parts are first rate, and Perry was there when I needed him.
Only upgrades I made were to tube sockets (not really needed) and the coupling caps.
Changed out to NOS RCAs and got the sound I wanted.
Recommended!

Thanks. I’m kind of in the same boat you were in. Trying to decide on a direction to head in that will allow me to try some 2A3’s that I have on hand. Have some NOS RCA’s as well, and some Sylvania’s too. I like the idea of point to point so that may help me decide. Thanks!

Based on what I'm reading, kinda leaning toward the Kaiju some, but the Stereomour is still there mainly because I already got the tubes.

I know this is an old thread, and the OP has long since chosen a different kit. But there is some confusion on the web about the various Paramour models, which have quite different capabilities. So I offer some clarification and/or historical perspective here:

Paramour was first released in 2000, as the least expensive 2A3 amp we could make. The output iron was pretty wimpy.

Paramour II was released in 2006, with the same basic circuit and output iron.

Stereomour was released in 2010, in the form of a stereo integrated instead of monoblocks with all-new custom iron which extended the bass response one octave, and the power band two octaves. The basic circuit remained the same.

Stereomour II was released in 2018, still the same basic circuit but with more extensive upgrade options.

MonAmour was released in 2020 and reverted to the monoblock format. It incorporated most of the Stereomour II options, plus even larger iron, extending the bass and power band another octave, and a new 5670 driver circuit.
 
I hadn't heard of the MonAmour until now. It sounds like an awesome amp, but I don't see it on the Website. Has it been discontinued?

Yes, it was dropped about a year ago. Some of the unique parts became unavailable or unreliable. It was kind of an odd duck, straddling the line between 2A3 and 300B - at the design center it dissipated 18 watts at the plate so it needed modern 2A3s, many of which can dissipate 25+ watts. (There was a switch to allow real 2A3s at 15 watts, at some compromise in sonics.)
