Well dug out my Steve miller band lip stash,a lot of great albums and great tunes,living in the USA,space
Cowboy,the joker,abracadabra,take the money and run.his first lp I like the best.after lps hard to go back to cds,just don’t sound as good.also les Paul was best man at his parents wedding.Steve miller played fender
Strats and telecasters,I do remember him playing Gibson lespauls correct

I really liked some of the early SM band specifically Brave New World and that time frame. But! I always considered his Fly like an Eagle was when he jumped the shark IMHO

If you don't have this album I highly recommend it. Blues, departure from the normal Steve Miller Band stuff.

Grew up as a casual Steve Miller fan. He never blew my socks off but always a decent listen.

Saw him 4-5 years ago and a decent sized venue and happily surprised. The guy is one of the orig San Francisco old school players in a world with very few left. Still has his voice, still got the chops. Wish I'd seen him back when Norton Buffalo was in the band playing his harp.

Needn me some Wild Mountain Honey bout now.

Really liked Steve Miller in the late 70’s, but “Abracadabra”!?!

That HAD to be a last minute album fill project…

PRODUCER - “QUICK!, we need one more song to fill up the LP…you’ve got ten minutes, write something!!!”

STEVE - “Sure…you expect me to write something in 10 minutes!?! Yeah…I’ll just do an “Abracadabra” and pull one out of thin air…no problem!?! You’re on glue! If you weren’t in that damn control booth, I’d reach out and grab ya! HEY…wait a minute!”

The lyrics are just soooo deep….

After this one, the music starting changing. More mainstream, pop, sign of the times? It was still good.
