Strobe Light question

I want to add a clamp-on goose-neck LED or Neon light above my TT to make it easier for my tired old eyes to see the bands on the record and also to set the speed with a strobe disc. I have found a number of LED lamps that work on line current so should flash to illuminate the strobe but most have multiple LEDs. My concern is that they may have reversed teh phase on half the LEDs to eliminate the strobe effect I am looking for. Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Bill

I have just tested a cheap Great Value® brand 60w LED bulb on my own turntable, and while its not as clear as the built in strobe, its totally useable to fine tune the speed. The reason is probably the phosphorus meant to reduce the flicker is working against me.
A dimmer one might impove things, or perhaps a "clear" LED bulb would work even better.

Install in your own gooseneck lamp and profit.
