Studer ReVox 795

Hi to all out there. I am looking for some input on a stylus /pickup for my TT.

I just had some work done on it and was informed that I really needed to get it replaced.
I was told that a Shure M97X is optimum for the TT, and should replace stylus with it.

What say you all out there. What is your choice of replacement and the bigger question is....
how and where do I source the replacement.

Hoping that there are some Studer ReVox owners out there with a definitive answer.
Thanks

Well the Original Revox tables used Shure V-15 in different variations, but now that Shure is out of the business its time to do some research. I would look to Ortofon first. They have many many choices. I would stay away from the MC however. Bronze or Black will track just as well as your original V-15 at the same pressure. Yes they cost more. But they are both great cartridges. The blue and the red are step down but will work, too. Trying to keep a lid on the budget. Remember the prices have gone up many times since your Revox was built. Shure did a brief reissue of the V-15 V as I remember and it was close to $1000.00 10 years or so ago. So paying $440.00 for an Ortofon Bronze from Amazon is quite a good deal. The Ortofon is a smoother on top too over the V-15 V Mr I had. Stanton no longer builds their calibrated series either so I would pass them bye also. Dynavector V is even more money and the stylus isn't user replaceable.. I don't think Clear audio has anything that you could use. I am sure there are many others though.

Thank you for replies. Looks I still can use some help with sourcing a replacement that is also cost effective.
