I need some advice for purchasing some floor standers for under $800. I will be using a Cambridge Audio AXR100 integrated for the amp in a medium sized room. I listen to all sorts of music so I don't want something that sounds good only for one genre.

I've been out of the loop for a while and have no idea what is a decent speaker these days. Any advice would be appreciated. Cannot afford top of the line but there must be something nice for under $800. Guess I should add that I'm looking for NEW, not vintage speakers.

Also, I live where there is really no option to go and listen to various speakers.

Thanks!

available for 469 each, brand new ,with free shipping, way less lightly used
Don't believe me,
go to the Lancing forum and read what owners say about them
or for more horsepower, get a pair of the 530's and 2 JBL powered subs and still be under $800

I just checked out Polk's website. They seem to have a wide variety of affordable floor standers.
Anyone have any of their products?

IMO Polk doesn't make any bad speakers, but they also don't make any particularly exceptional speakers.
The JBL sale is still going: https://www.jbl.com/sale/
A pair of 590 would be slightly over budget, a pair of 580 or a pair of 530 plus a pair of 550p subwoofers would be slightly under.

Has anyone heard of JAMO?
I have not BUT there is a sale on Jamo Studio S809 for $400 for a pair.
If they are a decent brand then that might be a good deal.

Jamo was a Danish manufacturer that made some really nice speakers, they're now a subsidiary of Klipsch. Too bad you weren't looking a few yrs ago, Amazon had some crazy sales on Jamo at 90% off, you read that right, 10cents on the dollar.

The C-109 floor standers that debuted at $6500/pair, then retailing for $4500/pair were selling for $398/pair. The C-103 that was retailing for $1800/pair for $129/pair. The C-10 center retailing for $1200 was $99 lol.

All of their models were ridiculously priced, I was lucky enough to get one C-10 and five pair of C-103's, sold four pair to buyers in Australia for a bit of a profit. The sales were sporadic spread out over about 6months and only lasted a few minutes each time.

Here are the speakers I kept, the C-103's are powered by an 80lb 400watt/channel beast as the mains in my multi-channel setup using twin Dayton Audio Sub 1200's as stands. The C-10 is powered by a bridged Carver TFM-15cb for 300watts, they can handle some juice.

If wanting to get some giant killers I suggest going on eBay and picking up a pair of C-103's new in box for $425 and a pair of Dayton Audio Sub 1200's from Parts Express at $150 each. You're still under budget with 25hz capability.

It may not be apparent from the pictures but these are not small at 30lbs each and sporting a 7" mid/bass with a huge port these really kick out some bass. If you notice they dwarf my Infinity Modulus speakers on the stands.

Wow, that was some deal!!
You're right. It's unfortunate I was not looking back then. :)

Although, it sounds like JAMO might be decent and $400 for the pair sounds good also.
I'll have to see if there any reviews out for the Jamo Studio S809's.

I can't comment on any of their newest models, but Jamo has made some very schveet speakers.

Why ask for advice if you chose to ignore it?
Can you comprehend what you are reading?
I'm not ignoring anybody. LOL
Please elaborate.

Did you miss the part in my OP where I stated I have a $800 budget. Saying a recommended speaker is out of my price range is NOT ignoring anyone.

You must share your final selection.
I'm a bit Surprised no recommendations for Klipsch's
