Sunday Morning score - 289 LPs of choice 60s and 70s

< speakerlab 7's
I'm picking these up tomorrow morning, I spoke with the seller and realized that he is someone I've emailed before and I think Klownschool has dealt with - he has good quality vinyl. He is moving out his dupes and extras, said there is some tasty stuff in this batch including a sealed Buffalo Springfield Retrospective - I already have that but a sealed copy is nice. As Meggy says the vinyl motto is - "take all, sort 'em later." This should be good, I'll post a report after I pickup.

Thanks to Klownschool for the heads up. (I'll save the Lee Michaels for you :) ) :thmbsp::music:

Thanks guys, yeah the pickup went like clockwork. I traveled about an hour south without a stop and got to the sellers within 2 minutes of the appointed time. The assortment looked good, probably more than 3/4's are titles of interest lots of unique stuff I don't have. He goes to the Eugene record show as a seller. The boxes were in the driveway / garage. The condition is the usual from a record show guy - very good, mint on a bunch of stuff, other is average but worth a clean and listen. He pointed out lots of interesting information on titles as I flipped thru the boxes. Long f 'ing drive but worth it. Does it rain in Southern California. Man it pours.
Great 70's Pop.

This is an excellent list.
I will be parting with some stuff soon to make way for more good stuff.

Thanks Mark - I'll clean it up and put it on the platter next. Be bop Deluxe is new to me - early 70's english progressive rock I see. crank it up, this should be good. :music::thmbsp: Any other suggestions from the list? I'm thinking the Peter Kaukonen (Jorma's brother) title on the Grunt label will be interesting.

Axe victim was the 1st album and kind of raw compared to the later releases.
Modern music was my favorite in High school,
much more polished and engineered.
And the live Be bop album you have is one of my top ten Live
recordings,Plus I dig the cover too!
Im curious about the Entwistle "Mad Dog" record ?
Have you given it a spin yet and "Who" else is listed as playing on it ~?

Wow, Axe Victim is all over the place from the Bowie/Glam style to straight-ahead rip your face off rock. Some incredible guitar runs on the rock tracks including the one you recommended, I see what you're talking about.

I'm listening to Mad Dog now, 1975 - it's MCA but it's got a cool brown Track Record label. The record looks like it's never been played. It's early rock material, similar to the Dave Edmunds/Nick Lowe / Rockpile style - some good bass playing of course. No credits in the cover or lyrics insert, found this on the web: Guests include Eddie Jobson (played with Roxy Music, Zappa) on keyboards, violin, Tony Ashton (played with George Harrison on Wonderwall) on organ and Graham Deakin on drums, full blooded brass and string section adds extra power tracks like 'Mad Dog' and 'Drowning'. Nine tracks total.

Must of been a blast knowing all of these Talented
musicians to call up for a Solo project,
I had Entwistle on the brain this morning cause last
night I caught this great film/music on the "Documentary" channel titled-Rising Low. Around 25 bass players (A+)
http://www.mule.net/discography/rising_low.html
Mr.Entwistle was one of the Bass players interviewed.
Its about the death of magnificent "Gov't Mule"
Bassist Allen Woody and the making of a tribute album. If you have cable or Sat,Keep your eyes peeled
Enjoy the Sun!
