pterWould greatly appreciate If someone could tell me what color wires go to each of the designated contaqcts on the variable voltage version of an SX-1010 . There was also a place where somthing appeard to bo soldered to the chassis directly above the voltage adapter

This post may help, I think (hope) the wire colors are consistent over the years.

Well, here's a multi-voltage setup, the color code for the transformer wires is consistent over three transformers so far, including a dual transformer setup. The switch position in the drawing is at the 120 volts ac setting.

Otherwise post a picture. Directly to the chassis would be the 2.2 megohm (red red blue gold/silver) safety resistor.

It appears
Gray = 120
Red = 110
Orange = off
Brown = 240
Yellow = 220
Green = Center Post
What is connected to the 130 volt terminal
Thanks Ron

If you're talking about the terminal on the very top (nearest to the chassis), the only thing I see connected is the safety capacitor and nothing else. The other side of the safety capacitor is connected to the lower bar(farthest from the chassis) of the rear power outlets along with the white wire from the transformer. The 2.2 megohm safety resistor that is missing from my picture is connected to the same bar as the safety capacitor and white transformer wire on the power outlet and the other side of the resistor is connected to the chassis lug.

I would ask Mark for more info. The schematic Mark posted does not look quite the same as what my picture shows. I recently looked inside my receiver and I did no mod to it. It is as it was originally and it works well. It is currently part of my living room system.

I don't know WHY this didn't occur to me yesterday... I looked at the sx-939...

Here's what you probably have, the colors seem to correspond....
