SX-626 Left Channel Out

As my title suggests, my left channel just went out on my sx. It has been been working properly since I've gotten it, it just emitted a low pop and went out. Is this a simple fix of just replacing the fuse in the back panel? I took the fuse from the right channel and tried it in the left channel but still no sound.

Help please!

i would first disconnect both speakers and inputs then check the dc voltages on the speaker outs .should read in the mv scale near to zero is good

I don't have one of those. I tried headphones as well and the left channel was out on those too. If that helps.

looks like phones are connected to speaker outs through resistors next plug your input into main if jumpered between main and pre remove jumpers first ..if still no joy then check the 2 amp fuses

Alright, i took the jumpers out and went into the main in jack. Got a signal in both channels. What does that mean?

Upon trying to get my amp working today I turned it on and got sound out of the left channel but It was very weak. Right channel is still fine. What gives?

Did you check the fuse for that channel?

Edit: I didn't even see that he went into the main in jacks and got sound. :withstpd: I was reading too fast. :nono:

signal into either or both amp in jacks makes it out to the speaker - means that amplifier channel is good.

the signal comes OUT of ther pre-out jacks and goes back in on the amp-in jacks.

thus it may NOT be coming OUT.

press the mono switch in and see if a signal comes OUT both pre-out jacks.
the mono switch is just before the electronics of the preamp, but AFTER switches that could be dirty.

if MONO doesn't help, that means there is a problem in that channel of the preamp.

Im not sure I completely understand you mark, are saying to plug into the pre out jacks and see if I get any sound? I dont have any other to test for a signal.

Well anyway I tried that and got no sound. Oddly enough though the amp seems to be working properly now. I do not know whats going on with it.

dirty switch / vol pot. or possibly dirty fuse holder ..or even just a bad connection on the jumpers ..
see how it goes if its now working

How would I go about cleaning the fuse holder or jumper connections? Its working now but I keep hearing a pop every 20 seconds or so. Every time I turn it on it seems to behave differently :sigh:

Seems like I have alot of work on my hands! Yikes. Well thanks for the help, mark I believe you've helped me a time or two. Really appreciate it.
