I just picked these up. They seem to work well. I like to inspect the drivers of my new purchases but can't fine a way behind the grill. Any clues? Oh, Goodwill, $20. Patrick

Man, those are the coolest speakers I've seen in a long time. While I really like the Tandberg electronics, I've never seen Tandberg speakers.

Looks like a serious woofer.

TL=Transmission Line? :scratch2:

Definetely not a Transmission Line design.:no:

Most likely TL, in this case, stands for Tandberg Loudspeaker.

The grill is probably held in place by some small nails. At least that was the case with many speakers sporting the famed "Lattece" grills, particularly those from Japan.

Yes,Tandberg Loudspeakers.These are of the common closed box type.
These old Tandbergs are normally opened by removing the back.
If you do,you'll probably find a mix of British Celestion,Danish Peerless and perhaps even Italian Sipe drivers!

Those are 12" woofers. I found some Norwiegen brochures on line and it appears to be the big brothers of the product line. I started in the Hi Fi business in 1971 (my first sale was a mac system) in retail. I've been a rep, consulted with speaker companies, and managed many a store. As I told my wife, I have never seen these in my entire life. When I looked in the back room of my local GW I asked if these were coming out. When the answer was yes, I said just roll them over to my car, which they did. I was too curious to let them go. As I said, they are in my office now for testing and seem to work and sound good. I feel I got lucky this time. Patrick

Yes, the Tandberg database shows them as top of the line for the speakers produced until 1974 when the new line came out. They should sound very nice.

Not TL-5010

Hello everyone.

I dont´t think these boxes are TL-5010. I´ve had the 5010 and it had a cloth-grill and played very nice. These are more likely the older "HI-FI System 15". They have the wodden grill. I would like to listen to them. :-)

Regards from Norway

Arne
