Hi all,
I’ve picked up a pair of Tannoy System 12 DMT II as a restoration project. One 3136GG has a narrow crack in the polypropylene cone; the surround and the rest of the driver look good.
I’m aware that parts for these are scarce and that the original 7900-0334 recone kit is difficult to find, so I’m specifically interested in anyone with first-hand experience.
Has anyone successfully repaired a crack like this while retaining the original cone/moving assembly? I’m aware that polypropylene can be difficult to bond reliably, so I’d be particularly interested in repairs that have actually held up long-term.
Or does anyone have, or know of a source for, a 7900-0334 kit or a correct replacement kit for the 3136GG?
Photo attached.
