Teac a-303

Hi, I'm new to this site. I have a teac A-303, that needs a new belt. In search online, I came across someone converting tape decks into mp3 players, which at first thought it was nice idea until I heard the whole mechanism had to be replaced with a smartphone. Now knowing that this can be done, got me thinking instead of taking out the mechanism, how about adding in a mini amplifier. I have a soloman 992a2 2.1 system, (which I looked up and can't find anywhere online) I think it would be a great idea take the mini board out and add it into the deck. Unfortunately I'm no engineer, and would appreciate any ideas anybody would have on this idea, if this is even possible.

I've seen crazier stuff done but at the end of the day you have to ask why? Just plug your phone into the amp and let someone else get a $5 belt and use the cassette deck the way it was intended. Are you trying to use the cassette deck buttons to control the phone?

I want to add an amplifier inside of it and use as a tape deck/amplifier. To use as a stand alone. Because I love the VU meters. I'm not interested in adding a phone inside. I prefer to keep as is just adding not subtracting.
