Teac RC-70, RC-71 Remote Control

I picked up one of these today, mint condition in the box, looks like it was never used, no instructions or list of models that this will work with. The cord has a date of 1989 on it, I assume was intended for a Tascam reel to reel or cassette deck? It also says Teac on the box. Was it used on Teacs as well? I have a Teac 450 cassette deck stashed that is in need of repair, will it work on it? The Teac is buried under some other stuff waiting on a rainy day for fixing. I checked e-pay completed auctions and it only had one listed, it went for $103. Thought maybe someone here ( Vintage Tx ) might be interested in a little bartering. :scratch2: If you know what models this works on , please chime in and add your 2 cents worth.

Thanks,

Kim

Sure I can help you Kim. :)
RC-71 will work with Tascam 122, 133, 122 MK II cassette deck +
Reel to Reel models: Tascam 42 NB, Tascam 44 OB,Tascam 38 Mixer& reel to reel, Tascam 32 +34 later models with (1) pinch-roller, Tascam 38 (1/2) 8-channel.
A brand new remote cost $ 160.00 at Teac last time I checked.
Used one sell very fast for between $ 75.-100.00 if it's working and good condition.

Not sure if it's work with your Teac, check on the back it usually says next to the remote connection.
Older Teac's has different remotes:
RC-120 = A-2300 SD, A-2300 SX, A-2340SX, A-3300SX, A-3340 S, A-6100.

RC-140 = A-2300SR, A-2340RS, A-4300SX, A-6300,

RC-80 = A-6600

RC-170 = A-7300, A-7300RX, 25-2, 40-4.

Hope this helps Kim :thmbsp:

Are RC-71 and RC-70 interchangeable or equivalent?
Thanks

On the wired remotes its gonna depend on the business end - the plug.
I have a RC-71 and a RC-140 one has a round plug and the other looks more like the old "VTR" plugs on professional video monitors or tape decks.

I have the Tascam old 44 and the RC-71 fits it. the RC-140 works with a Teac 6300.
