Technics SL-1810 (MK1) NEED ADVICE

Hello,

I've got a vintage Technics SL-1810 (MK1) model. I call it MK1 because its an early release before the MK2 version I believe 1978. Unfortunately one of the bearings of the tonearm broke off due to my own stupidity. I hate to sell this beauty because it works fine and looks amazing. Parts are very difficult to find and if possible cost quite a lot. I read on the net some people in the past have been able to replace the board with an SL1200 MK2 but I would like to hear any advice from you guys, and/or, suggestions. If its possible to upgrade from SL1200 MK1 to MK2 I am sure I can upgrade my SL-1810 MK1 to SL-1200/10 MK2 or perhaps other brands like REGA.

Anyway, please let me know.

Thanks
Ted

What do you mean by "one of the bearings of the tonearm broke off"? The pin or the race? Any pictures?

FTR, if you need parts specific to your arm, your best bets aren't going to be a Mk2, it'll be a deck in the same series with the same arm, so an SL-1600/10, SL-1700/10, SL-1800/10.
