I just picked up one of these on that auction site after having had many other Technics integrated amps and receivers. I have read such great things about the V9 that I jumped on it when I had the chance to find one.
Just plugged it in and all I can say is WOW! I first connected it to some high-sensitivity Focal 807w bookshelves but thought, with all of this power it would really rock my vintage Kef 105/2's. If I turn the volume knob past 9:00 my dogs get up and leave the room. Great, clean power.
Every time I turn on a great vintage amp like this one, which you can pick up for a song, I wonder why people on this site say the vintage amps can't hold a candle to the new modern technology?
I am returning two new powerful amps I purchased recently from HK and Musical Fidelity as IMHO, they don't hold a candle to this monster V9.
