Teisco Checkmate 50 - Schematic?

A friend of mine found this in a barn (yeah, really) and I'm trying to bring it back to life. My only issue is that I can't find a schematic for this thing anywhere. I'm hoping somebody here might have one (or know how to find one). :scratch2:

The reason I need the schematic is that somebody else has been into this amp. A few switches have been replaced, and there are some strange wiring issues near the transformer (see photos).

I'm questioning the idea of replacing the capacitors. Are the oil-based caps more reliable over a long period of time?

I have a Teisco Checkmate 25 that I restored a few years ago and it sounds incredible; far better than any solid state amp I have ever owned. This one has more horsepower and has loads of potential, so I can't wait to get it up-and-running.

The Japanese oilers are AWFUL... I've tested quite a few of them after pulling them, never seen a good one! They've been causing transformers to smoke since the '60s...

In general, oil caps are better quality but those are the exception. Most of the Japanese oil caps from that time period get electrically leaky for whatever reason. You can replace them with anything really, they are not electrically different than a film cap of whatever type you like.

If that is the tremolo, what is between the sections of the 6AQ8? it's a neon bulb and a cad cell, connected to another oscillator and a foot switch, whatever it is.

Pete,

That neon bulb must be a status light for what , i have no Idea; until
I peruse the schematic. I only briefly glanced over the plans. tonight
seems to be your night to delve into and absorb said schematic to
answer your query.

Yeah,I'm waiting for parts for a project,I got board and went over my old posts to see if I missed any responses, and came to this ons,and decided to look it over again.
The neon changes the resistance of the cad cell, which attenuates the signal between the stages of the 6AQ8,I'm not sure what it is for.
It's a puzzle I was trying to solve(a crossword if you will)
