The car that "brought sexy back" for you...

I don't normally fall for cars, but when I saw the first edition of the 4th gen Firebird (SLP version - Firehawk), I said SOMEDAY.

Then they dropped the line in '02, and I took the plunge (a real financial squeeze), but now PAID. It's an eye-grabber and has been a ton of fun. Handling is better than the 1st gens, and the small block 346 cu LS1 has plenty of getty-up, and huge potential for large HP increases. As you can see in my avatar, it is not only a muscle car, but also my auto-audio treasure. Made the October 2004 issue of Car Audio and Electronics magazine. Quite proud of what this car has accomplished. Also won the 2004 EFA Bracket Racing Series championship.
It's been a WILD RIDE.
Hey Nutz, Nice bird ! Poncho's rule !:thmbsp:

I had a '76 Olds Cutlass Supreme Brougham...350-erm, excuse me, 5.7 litre V-8, "Whore's Drawers" upholstery....HUGE car, had 3' of dead space under the hood, but the back seat, I thought, was CRIMINALLY small for a car of that size. Teeninecy trunk, too-Spare took up Squatter's rights. I took all the pollution crap offa it, it would run like a scalded dog. It was trained well, too-Took me home several times that I don't remember how I got there...

A 1972 Volvo P-1800 coupe (body by Ghia) 2.0L port fuel-injected engine, similar to this one. Like an idiot, I sold it after I first got married.

Good enough for Roger Moore as The Saint and good enough for me -- plus girls loved those little tail fins.

I liked the "Shooting Break" version of those-a little more practical, & when was the last time you saw one ?

Mine wasnt a car at all. It was a 76 chevy van, with the wall to wall carpet, fridge , bed , side bubble windows ,lowered with fender flares custom sound system. You had to understand it was the late
1970`s and vans were all the rage. at least here in cali.
I didnt know they were producing the miura s, must be a special construction or kit.

Nice!

82 Datsun (soon to be Nissan) 280ZX. It was sleek, looked like a missile on wheels, had powered side mirrors to follow a nice tush along the sidewalk, was silver so it screamed "arrest me", and was smooth as silk at 100 down the highway (and seemed to possess "stealth" features as I'd go past radar sites and never be tagged).

Yea, strap a blonde seat cover into the passenger seat and cruise, baby!

my cousin is working on a '72 240Z. he found a parts '83 240Z(MUCH heavier) one with a much bigger engine(straight-6 vs. 4). the 240Z's engine had seens its days, but the car itself was in much better shape. he transplanted the engine, and turbo-charged it(or maybe it already had turbo). now he has ONE HELLUVA AWESOME '72 240Z!

HI guys,

Here was my first car and Toyota's take on the Volvo P1800S in the liftback version, the 1977 Toyota Corolla SR5 Liftback. I always thought it was a handsome car, if a bit underpowered with a 1.6 liter 4 cylinder. But it was very practical, the back seats would fold down into a flat "bed" that could hold tons of stuff. I learned that the hard way when my wife and I took Highway 1 up the California coast and I thought I could get up on 1 tank of gas to Monterey. Well, I was pretty much dry when we rolled into Big Sur but the gas station was closed and the only hotel was full. She slept in the back bed while I had to curl up in the front seat (cause she was pretty mad at me). However the morning drive to Carmel made up for it.

Always thought though my dad's 1975 Mercury Grand Marquis land yacht was great because you could actually stretch out almost 6 feet in the back seat :scratch2:

Bart

That SR5 is like a cross between the P1800 coupe and P1800ES wagon.

I like the SR5 front end too, plus the body reminds me a slightly stretched AE-86...
