The Good Morning (Your First Logon for the Day) Thread

Late to the party, sorry...34 deg F/ 1 deg C and overcast, snow of some sort supposed to start between 3 and 4 PM, given
the temp is above freezing, I am fearing wet and heavy. Both snowblowers (big and small) gassed up, started/run,
as ready as we'll ever be.

Kerfluffle on this board with ads coming through on cellphone, don't appear on this desktop, but that might be due
to an adblocker...I had thought it expired??? And then I seemed to get locked out of the other popular audio forum
that must not be mentioned, LOL...attempted to contact owner via "contact," must have worked as it seems I am back in...
I hope!

Joe Val Bluegrass Festival comes up in two days, taking mandolin workshop the first afternoon then its "free-range" to see
what interests me. Does not appear to be many Old Time workshops or jams this time around, much to my dismay, but several
interesting panel discussions and there are always the shows on the "Main Stage." First year in 12 years I could not book a
room in the main hotel, they put them on a random lottery...thats fine, but now a bunch looking for roommates or to swap
their reservations. Pisses me off, but anyway...

Everyone keep safe!

Good morning.
Yesterday was a long one ... I am drinking coffee and getting my act together to return to the hospital and be with mom. She had a heart attack and is scheduled to have surgery sometime today. She is a strong 88 year old woman, a 16 year breast cancer survivor, she is stable, not in any pain and you couldn't tell there's a problem just by looking at her. Shortness of breath and easily fatigued were her symptoms, we are pretty sure she needs at least one stent.

Prayers sent

Good morning. It’s 25°F going to 53. I’m headed to the gym for weights and a swim. The flooring guy got the first sanding done on all the rooms at the other house yesterday. Finish level sanding today and then the sealer. It’s looking pretty good.

I have a foot injury from 6 weeks ago that’s kept me limping and it’s been slow to heal. I did run 7 miles yesterday afternoon and I felt it the whole way and thought I’d go for an x-ray today if it still felt the same today but this morning it’s way better. Go figure.

Nothing on the agenda today. I have 2 new books to read so I’ll get started on those.

You Go Mom! Mine’s 88 as well. I call her and her sister the Timex Sisters. Praying for you all.

Good morning! Got out late for the morning walk (no alarm like the last two days), upper 50s F, few high thin clouds, going to 79.

Garage guys replaced side weatherstrip on one door and bottom on both. Both got new rollers and a spring adjustment. One side strip involved replacing a piece of wood that the strip nails to. I had some usable trim paint left from when the roof edge trim was replaced a few years back.
Monthly small camera club face-to-face in late afternoon at a restaurant we haven't been to before (except for the club prez, whose job it is to pick).
That's about it.

Have a great day!

Edit: forgot to mention I picked a couple of shots for the subject of the month, "Silhouette." "Finished" processing them, but will wait a few days and look again - not totally sure of the crop on one.

Good Morning Folks. It is 30f on the snowy porch. We received a very light overnight while the wind was blowing and more of the same during the late morning hours. What snow we got didn't even cover the ground. The road is clear for the drive into town later this morning, I've got a Dr. appointment this morning! No other plans for the day. Monday our diesel heating oil was down to just 5 days supply. We gave the provider call and requested a top off and we're told to expect a delivery by Wednesday. My guess is they looked weather forecast and didn't want to trust the weather and fuel truck arrived just before dark Monday evening and top off the entire town. Because the entire town's diesel users were filled, I only received 200 gallons of the 275 needed to fill the tank completely but that amount get us thru the rest of the season.
Have a great day everyone and take care,
Allan

God morning, y'all! We have 60 and rain off and on all day. We got the grand to school and we're thinking about going to Barnes & Noble just to browse a little later. We have no other plans for today. I did get the drain cleared pretty easily yesterday, but it was a bit messy. The new auger worked great. Have an awesome day, everyone!

Thank you for sharing that. Do you journal or have you considered writing a memoir? I would like to read more.
Good morning from chilly Wyoming, where it always feel cold if we have humidity above 35%. Had an interesting day yesterday and still don't know how I made out.

My Microsoft lap top died about 6 months ago , since the battery replacement is difficult , the cost is almost twice that of what I paid for it used. I never could get it to talk to my HP printer, so I decided to replace it. I've good luck on computers on ebay, but felt compelled to give best buy a chance and picked a refurbished HP laptop for a price I could justify. My salesman was Ozzy, I of course started a conversation to learn about him and found out he was playing jazz trumpet at the college here. This was an opportunity I've been looking for and almost got it done a few years ago in the same store but the employee was no longer employed.

Many years ago, my parents were sad because I was no longer playing a horn. At auction they purchased a 1930's jazz trumpet and sent it to me for Christmas. It is in excellent condition for the most part, silver plated brass with some nice decorative scroll on the bell. To them , one horn was the same as another, but a french hornist, my armuschure does not work on trumpets. so is has sat for 15 to 20 years.

I purchased a laptop , got Ozzy's phone number , when home and pulled the laptop out of the box. It appeared new, as instructions dictated I plugged it in and tried to turn it on but couldn't located the on switch! Luckily, the diagram included showed me the location of the of the on switch but it was missing!!! I check the clock , it was just 3pm, I boxed it back up and headed back to best buy. with the horn too! Best buy was easy to deal with , no hassle exchange and Ozzy was just getting off work . He follow me to the "uncle buck" , I open the case to the trumpet and his jaw about hit the ground. He was expecting a 1930's trumpet to look down trodden at the very least, this horn is perfect but I'd give it and 8 out of 10.

I'm not on coincidence, I feel very lucky to have someone who will love and appreciated a gift like that. no thought of monetary valve crept in his mind, his only desire is to make beautiful music with it. I love it when things work out right.

UPDATE: The procedure was a complete success. The right coronary artery was blocked 100%, and it has been reopened with a stent. Dr. Patel said because she is so active and healthy her body had already created a bypass, and that's why all of her cardiogram tests came back negative. She was awake and watching the procedure on the same screen the Dr. was viewing and got up off the operating table on her own, she is spending one more night in the hospital for rest & observation ... I'll bring her home tomorrow so she can change the oil & filter in my trucks and rotate the tires.
