The Good Morning (Your First Logon for the Day) Thread

Mornin', 22°F here right now but was 6° when we got up. Wife tweaked her knee badly at work yesterday, got appointment through our PC Dr for orthopedist at 1030. Doesn't know what she did. No swelling, can bend, but cannot put weight on it...we'll see. Keep safe all.

Good morning! Sunny and upper 50s F at the moment, going to upper 80s. Waiting for HVAC crew to arrive.

Yesterday: started on a St. Pat's still life for display on the antique TV as final St. Pat's graphic. It's difficult keeping it simple enough to show well on the low-resolution TV.
I've got artificial shamrocks (already pushing the limits of clarity) in a green vase. Tried adding some miniature rose garland around the base of the vase, like the color, but it really doesn't say "St. Patrick's day." More noodling around to come.

[08:27 HVAC crew arrived - I grilled them on knowledge of the unit to be sure they aren't heading for the same mistake made on the downstairs unit, and they were aware of it. Said they have done "hundreds" where it was the first time for the previous crew. Also said that they could see where the previous crew had gone off the track on fitting the unit and ended up adding extra screws.]

Back to yesterday: I made progress on the jigsaw puzzle. It's a collage of dog pictures separated by white lines. The edges are done and now I'm working on the pieces with lines, and a few areas with unique background textures/colors. Looks like the dogs themselves may be the last pieces to get done.

This evening: big camera club's B&W SIG.

Have a great day!

Good Morning Folks. It is 35f on the deck and today's high will be 50f. Today Alice and I are off to Sioux Falls for shopping. The main item is a shelf and or rack to place the audio components brought from NV. Just got a text Alice and I are invited to visit the grand kids, any time after 10am. We will shop after the a short visit.
Take care everyone and have a great Tuesday!
Allan

Mornin’ Friends,
We’re expecting a high of 70f here today. Yesterday I kept the re-start bike ride to 10 flat miles, made a medium sized Costco run and ended the day knackered, but not hurting. Taco Tuesday will include our first quarter meeting with our financial planner this morning. I have a big idea to discuss - to self-finance purchase of a nearby tear down house on a large 6,000sf lot and build a pair of condos and sell this house after the move. It would greatly simplify our estate and improve our present living situation greatly.
Have a great day.
John

Update: no snow yet, feels like its coming, started and ran li'l Huskq yesterday...first pull ...maybe jinxed snow away?

Wife was seen by nurse practioner, had xrays...seems she has an "angry knee" (my term), not sprained, just inflamed. 600 mg NSAIDS x3 daily, home exercises, and appointment in two weeks if not better. Works for her! ;)

I hope it improves.
When I have issues like that I do 800mg ibuprofin after each meal ( always a full stomach) and not for more that 48 hours. I got my dr's approval on that years ago. The key is to not miss a dose. Gotta get that inflamation down.

Good morning dear friends!

33° F and partly cloudy, high 47.

Yesterday afternoon, I decided to do some bus riding around town. Some of the trees that fell during last week's storm I was seeing for the first time. Amazingly, hardly any of them fell on buildings of any kind or vehicles.

Hopefully, I will be having breakfast with friends around 9. Nothing else planned yet.

God bless you all!

Good morning. It’s 49°F going to 67. Yesterday I got in my weekly 7 mile run and my sore ft hung in there but ached last night. The doctor said it’s just a weird sprain and will take a while. It’s been 2 months.

Today I’m headed to the gym fr weights and swim. After that I’ll do a small grocery shopping. Then over to the other house to scrape a bit of paint off windows where I touched up paint yesterday. With the nice weather I’m thinking of going for a ride on my motorcycle but have to be back for a meeting at 5:30. It’s an ad hoc group that is helping the art museum get back to their previous funding level with the county. I have low expectations.

On the health scene, I had a skin tag on my neck that was irritated so had it removed a week or two again. They called and told me it was really a squamous cell carcinoma so now schedule for Mohs surgery in a few weeks. It’s always something.

Good Morning,

Sun is shining. Temp is already in the mid 40's. I hate to be optimistic, but it appears that the worst weather is behind us. Oil heat is off, pellets are running on low. I'm almost down to the final ton of pellets, been a long cold winter. Next year I'll buy 5 ton just to be sure.

Mrs. Kid is on vacation next week. Looks like we'll see 60's at the beginning of the week. If that's the case then we'll be riding our bicycles . That'll be a record...riding in March.

Not much scheduled for today.

Roasting a whole chicken for dinner.

Rock on,
Cheers

Morning all. 34°F/~1°C, cloudless blue sky, no wind, and everything covered in ice! We got 3" of dry and fluffy snow, then about 5:30 PM turned to sleet/freezing rain until midnight or so. Real mess outside, but temp supposed to hit 49°F/10°C by 2 pm so we'll see how much lasts.

By late afternoon yesterday wife's knee was much better, by bedtime almost walking normal. I'll give that to the high-ish dose of ibuprofen, although this morning she seems pretty good pre-meds. She WON'T be helping me scrape ice though! Keep safe everyone ;)

Good morning, y'all! We have 68 and sunshine here today. After we drop the grand off at school and have some breakfast, we're going downtown to a fish market to get some crabs for dinner tonight. I have some yardwork to do today moving some river rock to the front yard to use as edging for a pathway. I'll maybe go walking this afternoon if I feel like it. Have an awesome day, everyone!

Good morning! Sunny and upper 50s F forr the walk, took a little different route I haven't done since summer (it's the shadiest).

HVAC got finished yesterday as promised. I dumped more money into it and had electrostatic filters and UV lamps installed. Feeling a little buyer's remorse this morning. They programmed the new upstairs thermostat to match the downstairs, at least close. As usual, they did not enable automatic switchover, so I had to look up the installation manual and do it. I understand why they don't do it, as it's possible for someone who doesn't know what they're doing to program non-overlapping temperature bands that make the system suddenly switch from heat to cool or vice-versa.

Today: Maybe a quick grocery run. Monthly Photoshop Zoom this afternoon. I'm thinking stuffed peppers for dinner, but there are a few other things in the freezer.

Have a great day!
