The turntables by pioneer... What do you consider the best?

The Exclusive P3 has to be the TOTL, massive table, over engineered drive system, beautiful arm and glass dust cover. Dwarfs the PL90 behind it.

This Exclusive P3 is no holds barred, the finest Pioneer ever manufactured. And one of the top Japanese DD turntables ever manufactured.

My four Pioneers PL-530, PL-90 PL, PL-570, PL-707

I love my PL-41 now that I have the correct belt and replaced the thrust bearing. It's built like an industrial machine. The plinth is a heavy aluminum casting. The frame is walnut plywood, not veneer. Everything is made of machined brass or aluminum, no plastics. The hysterious motor is huge, the tonearm is beautifully made. If the PL-41 were manufactured today it would be at least $1500.

Never seen one in the wild in the US, but I'd give at least one organ for a Pioneer PL-61;

I'm also intensely interested in a PL-41W;

IMO, the Pioneer P-3A should be TVK's pick for 'best' Pioneer TT.

ETA: Once again I wish I had some method of sending my young self a message back in time. The stereo shops in Japan were FILLED with gear like this. Rack-upon-rack, entire walls of turntables. Early-80's 'our best' gear everywhere. I'd fill a shipping container with that stuff. Abe (Ahh-bay), if your out there somewhere, hope you are well!

Hello just wondering if u ever found a pl-61 in the wild. I just found one. A friend of mine was picking a garage and came across it. It had been sitting in there for 35 plus years in its original box. Just got into vinyl last year and have mostly vintage technics tables. I will be curious to see how this sounds on my infinity speakers compared to the technics. Just cleaned and pulled out the box. Needs a belt but motor spins.

Another nod for the PL-41. I don't know which Pioneer tt is best but I am in love with my PL-41. I don't know if I am getting the best out of it though. I have a Micro Seiki DD-40 and I have switched a Denon 103 cart back and forth between the two tables. The Micro sounds better but I still have a love affair with my PL-41. It's hard to explain. I think it is the best looking turn table ever. It is so simple and reliable. There is just something about it that makes it an absolute pleasure to use. I am supposed to sell one table to put cash in the bank. I can't decide which one to sell. I have 2 cassette decks. I think I will sell them instead and keep both of these beautiful turn tables. I can set one up for the 140g vinyl. DSCF2426.JPG DSCF2429.JPG DSCF2429.JPG

PIONEER PL-70 and PIONEER EXCLUSIVE P-10 were quite similar. Both, tonearms and drives could be bought separatly.

But not on Pioneer PL-70II, which has an electronic tonearm-lift. So drive and tonearm are connected.

My first turntable was a PL-61.
I know there are rarer, and "better" pios out there - but for me, this is my first love. It is also my only piece of Pioneer equipment I have left, and it will stay with me forever. I actually have two... just in case. If you have a chance to play with a PL-61, try it, just be careful... you will fall in love too!
