I have something similar, the AR94. Deli did a writeup on the 94's I think. Nice speaker, surprisingly nice.

$80 is a stretch in my opinion, but they look extremely well cared for and have original boxes...I would be torn. Maybe tempted. Or more. oooooooohhhhh......

I had the TSW-610s and though they were a bit bass heavy, they were a pleasant sounding speaker. I always had to turn the bass down with the tone control for those.

Yes, these are a Teledyne design. I had a pair from this series at one time.

They're in superb shape for their age, have no obvious rot, and of course the original boxes are a nice perk.

I would offer $60 and I'll bet he'll take it. Even if you don't like their sound, I suspect you may make a few bucks on them on ebay.

Teledyne are execellent speakers

I have AR18 and another pair AR48LS..Amazing sound for classical music.

Some of the new speakers are expensive but not accurate and poor separation.

I would not run to those. I'm not saying they are bad, but I expect you will find better speakers in the future. These are not the "collectible" ARs and when you go to sell them later, they will be tough to sell for over 50 bucks. I would pass.
