Nice. Thank you. I subscribe to "The New Yorker" digital version on my Kindle. I'll give it a read later today or tonight.

I took a couple of days off, and I missed the candy conversation, but I couldn't let his one pass.

Remember the Artie Johnson - Ruth Buzzi skit on the TV show Laugh-in... "Want a Walnetto?" I sure do, for whatever reason. It seems that the Walnetto company was nearly out of business and this skit, often repeated on the show, revived interest in the candy.

Watched "Laugh-in" and remember Artie and Ruth. But do NOT remember "Want a Walnetto?". I would have remembered if I ever heard it, because honestly, those were my favorite candies growing up.

When they relaunched, they were not bad for a while. Then they got VERY stale. I bought a few in the late 90s, early 2ks and it was like trying to chew plastic. That's probably why they are again out of business, if they are. I have not been able to order them from anywhere for quite a few years.

When Walnettos were fresh, they were soft, flavorful and absolutely delicious. When stale. you might as well have been shewing on leather.

I got this from Amazon a while ago. It's the 5 CD Set of Monk featuring complete albums from '54 - '57.
So this will take care of me for the rest of the day I think.

The set is probably still available from Amazon if anyone is interested. I think I paid LESS than 20 bucks. A bargain. I had most of these on Vinyl, but wanted them on CD as well.
