I have decided that I like treasure hunting for good used speakers. What is it about audio that you enjoy the most?

Listening to the audio. :D Restoring gear of any sort comes in a close second. Well, attempting to restore. Still in the learning stages of becoming an electronics tech. BTW, what's the nice driver in the pic?

I really like the whole aspect of the gear- the restoration, the system matching, cabling, various media, cartridge swapping, speaker auditioning.

But the music is king.

I love hearing something new. Like reading a new author. Or going out with a new girl.

DIY tube amps.....I love the challange!

Despite hacking around on GUITAR tube amps for four decades, I've only recently discovered the joys of actually digging into the circuitry itself?
LOTS of early failures.....later on.....50/50.
But hey, they don't call it a LEARNING curve for nothing?
Slowly but surely ("and don't call me Shirley".....Airplane), I'm getting better at it.
Now, if only I can keep from electrocuting myself........................................

For me , it's everything ........... the music, the different sounds, the build quality, the vintage, the hunt & chase, the tinkering, and the neverending hunger to read & research it all.

I wish I had saved more of what I let go of when I was younger inluding a couple of tube amps, a nice upright, beautiful console radio & all of my old stereo & electronics mags & catalogs.

For me its hearing a mono recording of the beetles on a mono system, or trowing some swing on the old phonograph. I love the music, I love the discover, I love the restoration and I love me some good ol tubes.

What I don't like, never having enough room, everything seems to be getting bigger and I hate when people get mad at me for selling stuff.

I still say why can't I collect stamps, something small that goes in a binder and on a shelf. And not having to worry about where to stuff the next console!

Hey this is my 800 post...yeah wheres my gold star :D
