I'm looking to replace some 2.2k and 2.5k trim pots, and I'm having some trouble finding what I want. Can I go smaller here, and, say, opt for 2k's given that my adjustments now are in the center range of the pot?
Depends how it is wired in the circuit, as a variable resistor shouldn't be an issue. Also a small variation could have a big effect in, say a idle current circuit. Do you have a schematic?
I have a schematic, and in fact, I bought some pots already from Mouser. The problem is that they are the wrong type. I needed flat ones and ended up with the upright kind; not a big problem, but it means that I can't adjust from the other side of the board.
