Trouble logging in and replying to my posts.

Hi,
I am having a bit of an issue logging in to the site. I log in -- enter my credentials. Then the page refreshes but does not show me logged in. I click on the search button on the top right, then advanced search. The search screen does appear. This page does show my username, and it appears I'm logged in. Click on the username and then 'my content'. My content displays. Click on a past and that displays. But it shows I'm not logged in and therefore unable to post a reply. Click on the Home tab and return to the home (forums) screen, where it shows not logged in.

What do I need to do to correct this?

Thanks

Hi, thanks for replying.
Acer i7 WIN11 laptop. Edge for windows. All software is updated. Cleared cache multiple times.
This setup has been in service for 3 years without issue until recently.
LAN using wired internal connection and fiber connection from ISP into my house.

Two times today, when I went to the AK site, I was already logged in under someone else's account. Early this morning under @chas23 and tonight @pch300. I've never had this happen before. It kind of worries me that others might be able to log in to my account.

I clear my cache each time I log off Chrome (the browser I use on Windows 11).

Thanks!

If you try to click on that wrong username it'll prompt you for username/password, at least it did for me the one time it happened. You should be safe.

I am not using the Edge browser. I am using Vivaldi, which runs on the Chromium engine. So Chrome extensions work and I have installed CacheBuster. That works for me. If I log in and it does not show me as being logged in I simply click on the CacheBuster icon and the proper page shows up. I don't exactly know what the problem is here, other than the fact that quite a few people are having issues. So basically right now using CacheBuster is just a workaround. But it does allow me to at least use this site.

I don't know if there is a similar extension for Edge. You might try installing Chrome or Vivaldi and then the CacheBuster extension...

When these issues first started for me, my son came here from his computer and saw that he was supposedly logged in as me. I was not even logged in at the time. The only thing that he and I share is a router connection. So very strange. Also he is running a dark theme on his browser and when I went to certain pages here, they would come up as dark theme on my computer. So very strange and I believe that it is a caching issue upstream, possibly related to CloudFlare. Because two different computers do not share the same cache. That cache has to be upstream from my router...

I am Chas23 and I've been having log in issues as well. If I don't stay logged in I get a security issue statement please go back one page and refresh. Nothing changes.

like I've said I've been having login issues as well and there seems to be a delay with my keyboard.
I'm sure it will get straightened out.

No worries, at least about me. When I saw that I was on your account, I immediately logged out and cleared my browser's cache.

Then, it seems to take a full minute or two to be able to log back in — and not be on your (or anyone else's) account.

Very odd. I have not seen this on any other website for a long time (like 25 years).
