Tube Pedigree Question

I picked up (from the garbage) a DYNACO FM-3 tuner. I'm in the process of determining whether it works. In the process of cleaning it up, I'm finding that all the tubes so far are DYNACO branded.

When I pulled the CV-4 it is labeled "GREAT BRITAIN" with the manufacturer/production codes clearly visible:

1022-040

436/2362

When I pulled the EMM-801, it was labeled "W. Germany" with the code:

1022-942

Can someone make sense of the numbers? I flopped around the net for a bit but it got all too confusing.

1022 is the EIA code for IEC Electronics, which was the US distributor for Mullard. 040 is 1960, week 40. They also relabeled other brands. Valvo was a division of Philips, as was Mullard, so it's the likely maker of the EMM801. Look for an etched code starting with "d" near the bottom. If it's Telefunken, there will be a diamond on the bottom.
 
Ok, so I finished pulling and examining all of the tubes and I think I have them all ID'd. Here's some pics of the EMM 801. I take it that it is a Telefunken tube distributed in USA by IEC Electronics, manufactured 42nd week, 1959?

The codes one the CV4 don't make sense. The first 3 numbers are the tube type, which has to be looked up on a chart. Some common examples are "I63" for 12AX7, and rX1-rX4 for 6BQ5s. The second four numbers are typically the plant/year/month/batch(week). Typically a Mullard would read something like B2D4 or Blackburn(England), 1962, April, week/Batch4.

I take it yours doesn't say Cossor on it? Looks like a 6X4 would be a bit of an upgrade as far as power handling. Cool tube, and first 6V4 I've ever seen. Thanks for posting it.
 
It was in the V-9 position in the FM-3.

My kids make fun of me because I rummage through garbage: saw the wire and followed it right to the damn thing! Really, really nice compliment of tubes :thmbsp:

Now I guess I gotta clean it up and see if it works :yes:

Nope, just says "DYNACO" and "GREAT BRITAIN" with the numbers in the pics.

Just like "real" fishing, you have to 'clean em' before you can use em'! :D
