Tube preamp with B&K amp

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone use a tube pre with B&K ST1400 amp? I might be considering getting a tube pre in the future. Thanks

No but I use a Transcendent Sound valve preamp with my Crown PSA2.

I had a B&K EX 442 Sonata. It was a warm amp with a bit of a rolled off top end - some people think B&K amps sound tubey. So if your tube pre is also tubey (vs neutral), it may be too much of a good thing if you're not into that sound. But there are a lot of neutral tube preamps, so just do some research and pick based on your desired sound. Also, not sure if the ST1400 sounds similar to the EX442 or whether you've compared yours to other amps and agree that it's a bit warm/rolled off or not.

So take my input with a grain of salt.
