Yea that one is pretty bad....If they had done it soul style with Pigpen back in the day, it might have worked.
My memory is hazy on this one, but I'm almost sure I can recall Pig having a share of the vocals (with Bob), plus JG & PL in the chorus parts, on circa '66-'67 live performances of "Dancing In The Streets."
I still say the one on Terrapin Station, long past Pig's time, is not my cup of tea.

I did theatrical lighting in the early 80's, and did 5 Dead shows. They had 200 songs they could play at any given moment, not always the same way of course.
Maybe they played Dancing in the Streets a few times and thought the fans wanted it.
Or, maybe it was the drugs.![]()
